Arizona

I decided my in High School I was going to study Geology.  When it came time to pick a school I chose NAU.   So I moved to Flagstaff, Arizona to attend NAU and get a degree in geology.  In four and half years I got my degree.  I also decided not to use it and work in the food service but its all good and dandy.  I love living in Flagstaff and Arizona is a great state to live in, if you like the outdoors.

I only live an hour and half from the grand canyon. So I try to at least get up to the canyon once a year.
Sedona is only twenty minutes away and it is very beautiful with the red sandstones.  I like to get down there to hike as much as possible.  Last year I was introduced to Fossil Creek which is about an hour away.  The creek flows at 70 degrees all year unless there is snow melt, the area is also so green and pretty, with water falls and a whirl pool, somewhere hot springs are also in play.  Tucson is in the southern part of the sate and I have been there a few times and do enjoy that city. I am hoping that I get down there for Thanksgiving this year.  Flagstaff itself is awesome we have the peaks and get four seasons.  Here are some pictures from the beautiful state I live in.

Days off

Sundays and Mondays are my days off and I like to keep them as full as possible.  Last week I spent my Sunday eating lunch with friends, coffee with Sarah, climbing/running with Laura, dinner with the roommates, Ke$ha concert and Karaoke.  My Monday was spent with the roommates hiking and then some Karaoke with Laura. Which it was a very busy weekend.  This week I only got today off and have to work tomorrow.  But today was a good day.  I woke up in Theresa's bed with Kelly and her.  I walked home and ended up going to lunch with Krystal.  During lunch we decided we should go and see all the pretty trees at snowbowl.  So after lunch we drive up to snowbowl found some coats in her car and decide to ride the ski lift up to the top.  It was my first time riding the sky lift it was a kinda scary but not to bad.   The weather changed on the way up and we ended up getting rained/ hailed and snowed on.  But it was still lots of fun and at the top the man yelled at us because we didn't hear the answer to our question.

here are the pictures of my afternoon.

Fall

The fall is my favorite season of all.  In New York the leaves on the maples changed colors and this made for some of the best views of all times. When I was little we would always rake the leaves into huge piles and jump in it them.  It was so much fun.  Here in Flagstaff we have Aspens that change into a really pretty yellow and we go up the mountain and hike around in the beauty of nature.  It's been a couple of years since I have made it up there and right now they are just changing so maybe I will get a chance this weekend to get up there and hike.

I also love fall because it is the season when pumpkin flavored everything is the stores.  At work all the units have something pumpkin flavored and it makes my day.  I love the pumpkin cream cheese muffins the best.

Communication is the key

People have the tendency to get mad at you and not tell you.  How does that solve the problem? Answer it doesn't solve anything.  So talk to the people you are mad at and see if the issues can be fixed.  Not hard.  Also when someone is talking to you don't walk away in the middle of it for no reason.  Grr people make me mad sometimes!

Cinnabon

My friends Zach and Sarah have Guinea pigs and the first thing I do when I go to their house is play with the little guys.  Sarah moved last Dec. to  California and took the pigs with her.  Leaving me with none to play with when I went over to Zach's.

Sarah came for a visit over labor day weekend, which is one the county fair is.  Zach had to work so her and I went to the fair.  The Coconino county fair has got to be the smallest fair I have ever attended.  There is not evening  a dairy cattle exhibit.  But they do have a lovely rabbit and cavy exhibit.  When we got to the fair we started walking around to all the barns to check out the animal displays.  We came across the guinea pigs and lots of them were for sale.  Sarah and I looked at them for the longest time and then we asked the people selling them if we could hold them. Sarah started playing with a little cute baby one and she decided right there to buy him.  But we weren't able to take him with us to walk around the rest of the fair with him, so we would have to go back later to get him.  As we finished walking around the fair I kept thinking about buying myself one of the other little guys they had for sale.  And after we checked out all the displays we wanted too and ate all the fried food we went to pick up Sarah's newest little friend. As we did I bought my little guy.  As the young girl handed me the pig she told me his name is Cinnabon. I fell for the little guy he has a wire hair coat.  We made one stop at the store to buy our new little babies treats. And then we went to Zach's to set up there home.  I am not allowed to have pets at my apartment my roommates  got caught with nasty Ferrets so they check on us to make sure we don't have anything else. But Zach loves em so its all good that he is willing to my little guy for awhile.

The top picture is of Cinnabon, we all call him Cinny.

The picture to the left is of Pucker and Marbles.
Pucker is five years old, and didn't complain to much when two little guys moved in with him.
